I've got 5-500 foot spools of #10 AWG that have anywhere from 50% to 95% of line unused on them.
About 2000+ total feet.
Seen them listed on grainger for $250. new.......Suggestions on selling or scrappppppppp

Assuming they are in good shape, I would think an electrician might buy them. Insulated or bare? Documentation on the wire as to code/standard?

Post on craigslist?

31.8 feet per pound. http://www.interfacebus.com/Copper_Wire_AWG_SIze.html $1.00 a pound for ins #2 wire by me..

Good shape, insulated, I have 2 makes, one is from Colonial out of NJ and it reads THHN or THWN-2 GRII VW-1 600 VOLT (UL) OR AWM OR C(UL) T90 NYLON OR TWN 75FT1 NO LEAD.
The other is from mexico and reads almost exact except they added the mill and ommitted a few things.

I'd try to sell as wire, that stuff can get expensive.

Yea when I looked one spool up and saw $250 I was like.......bonus

As a former sparky I can say that pulling solid wire in conduit is a pain. Stranded wire would be easier to sell. That being said if you can sell it you will make more moolah.

The Grainger price is unrealistic. #10 THHN sells for less than $0.20 per foot.

I'd still sell it as wire instead of scrapping it.

Near $0.20 a foot as wire or about $0.03 per foot as scrap.

Solid strand, though. I forgot building codes have changed. Drag that through conduit? Ouch.

Lowes and Home Depot sell stranded THHN for $.24 per foot (on 500 foot rolls). Solid usually sells for slightly less. Most people want stranded. Be patient, somebody wants it if it's priced right.

Wow I got a bite on CL @ .40/ft last night.....meet and greet later today for the cheese. Will post result. Thx guys for the help.

Took a ton of offers, and about 6-8 weeks of going threw it all for a nice $500.
About $125 a roll......decent.
