Couple of quick questions on recycling terms

Postby bankmining » Tue Aug 09, 2011 10:15 pm

Turned in some cans to a recycling place that was new for me and while waiting I was checking out their buy price board. In addition to #1bright copper, #1 insulated wire, clean aluminum, etc I saw a few categories I've never heard of. Anyone familiar with the term "candy copper"? There was another category just listed as "berry" :?: .

Their Industry code names for different forms of scrap. Kinda like 'Light Sweet Crude' or 'Heavy Sour Crude' oils. Sour crude has a lot of impurities like sulfur hence the the nick name.

Pewter is Ranch I think for example- dont know how they got their names though.

No.1 Copper Wire shall consist of clean, uncoated, unalloyed copper wire, not smaller than 16 gauge
Equivalent to ISRI code Berry

ISRI codes are scrap terms I guess

It's getting ridiculous.
My last receipt had 6 catagories of aluminum, irony, MLC, dirty, extruded ect.

I just back the truck up and let them deal with it. I'm usually satisfied.
If I have the gift of prophesy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to move mountains but do not have love I am nothing. And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned but do not have love it profits me nothing.
