Any car guys out there know about these...

Postby Ireland_925 » Thu Sep 08, 2011 8:45 pm

I bought 15 brand new aftermarket camshafts at an estate sale today. The only problem is the brand name is Amgauge and I can't find anything about their value. I found lots of Amgauge parts on ebay, just no cams. Just wondering if anyone knows whether they are at least decent parts I could sell or if I would be better throwing them in the scrap pile. Thanks in advance for any help.

IMHO

Don't know anything about Amguage but if you are going to sell these on ebay you are going to need to give a lot of info about each individual cam.

Like the type and size of engine, how it will be used and several other tech things including.
Camshaft Duration @ 0.050 in. I/E: 204 / 218
Camshaft Lift (in.) I/E: 0.551 / 0.541
Camshaft Type: Hydraulic Roller
Lobe Seperation Angle: 117.5
RPM Range: 2000 to 6200

If they are still in a box with printed info I would just hit up a few speed shops and see if they are interested. Good luck.

Thanks cyberdan. The problem is that I can't find any specs on this brand of cams because they are not made anymore. Most of the labels say they can be interchanged with other brands such as trw, sealed power, etc. and list a part number, so maybe I could use the interchange specs and be ok. Anyone know? Car parts aren't really my thing so I kinda rolled the dice on these. I hate to get too time involved trying to research and sell them if they won't bring much, but I hate to take new stuff to the scrapyard too.

Sorry cesariojpn, my camera is down so I don't have any pics yet. I'm going to get a list and pics of each soon (disclaimer: term used loosely) so I can try CL and the bay, so PM me if you want some pics and are interested.
