I have at least 200 plastic drums that I need to get rid of. They weigh 20-22 lbs each, so that works out to about 2 tons. Is there any value in them for scrap?
They are #2 plastic.

Yes there is. From what I read this kinda plastic has some value to it. I think around .50 a pound. But you have to find a local source because shipping it seems like it would cost too much.

I have too many to get rid of piece meal. I need to get rid of them in fairly short order. If I can get .50 per pound, that would be $10 each and would be worth it to sell them as a lot as opposed to one or two at a time for $15.
Any idea how I would find a recycler willing to take them? I tried looking on the internet, but get too much crap to sort through.

My company deals with lot of drums and these could be worth more to us than just scrap. What was in them? What state are they in?

Good luck on 50 cents a pound on any type of scrap plastic.

Cut the tops and some rectangles on sides as handles, sell them/donate them as garbage cans.

Sell them on here to the people that hoard pennies and nickels.

If you are near big water, people like to use them to float docks, ramps, house "boats", and float plane hangers. Most would need at least 10, some could use them all, depending. They need at least one bung closed, many people fill them with water to get them under the dock, position an open hole down, and pump air in.
