Lithium ion batteries

I have a box of bad lithium ion batteries from blackberry phones. Are they scrapable?

Yes, but most yards do not deal with them. They are one of the more valuable battery types, you just need to find a place that buys them.
How much do you have? My company buys some of the more obscure battery types and the prices are quite good right now. For small quantities I'll pay the prices below minus shipping costs.
Li-ion: $1.20/lb
NiCd and NiMH: $0.60/lb

How can I get a hold of you. We are sitting on large quantity of batteries. Tried to PM but that didn't work.

Sorry to jack this thread but..Quick question..what about CR123 3v lithium batteries? the type they make for digital cameras and flashlights?
I've accumulated probably 10 lbs worth and I go through them pretty quickly. They are sure are expensive to buy I know that.

Regular lithium batteries like those are different from lithium ion. My company only buys the lithium ion type, found most often in laptops and cell phones.
The composition of the two battery types is different and it's harder to accumulate large quantities of used regular lithium batteries. For those two reasons the used Li-ion market price is much higher.

Not to say that those camera batteries are worthless. Litihum does not occur in its pure form naturally. Even if you can't find a buyer now, battery grade lithium should not be thrown away.
