You have got to be kidding me! Where did you get those? Well, I'll start the bidding at $1 each. ;)

I love how we've spanned almost half a century since the start of August. 43 years in 3 days.

Oh, and I have 1766.

I was just looking at the Irish halfpenny which I had attributed as a 1766. It's awfully worn, and the date is nearly nonexistent. So I dug out the Krause book to see how I came to the conclusion as to its actual year. Process of elimination, of course. It's George III so that puts it from 1766-1782. He doesn't have long hair (type 3), so that means it's 1766 or 1769. From the ribbon behind his head and the shape of his noggin itself, it's a type 1, AKA KM137, which is still 1766 or 1769. Got out my magnifying glass and tried a few different angles. I looked up images of the two dates in order to see the placement of the digits on the final 6 and 9. Was kinda hoping this would turn out to be a 69...

Conclusion?

I still don't know.

Looks like we need to take stock of what we've got in the 1760's.

I have a Russian 1762 5 kopek.
OOPS - It was a 1763 5 kopek...

What do you other guys have?

I have what I previously thought was a 1766 Irish halfpenny. But it's essentially dateless, so who knows how that would help. But it is either 66 or 69. Those were the only two dates for the type.

Here's what I know about:
1769
1768 spacemanX - ?
1767
1766 uthminsta - Irish halfpenny.
1765
1764
1763
1762 Country - Russian 5 kopek.
1761
1760 TJCF - Russian 2 kopek.

So is this the first instance of a coin bought for this thread? Or ARE you in fact buying it for that purpose?

I won this Colonial on EBAY tonight. Of course, I don't have it in hand, but it's on the way to me sometime next week (received 8/15/13).

Minted in France for use in Guadeloupe, many of these coins circulated in French Louisiana. Prior to Jefferson's Louisiana's purchase in 1803, this was French territory, while just east in Florida was Spanish.
