Value of these Coins

I was wondering if anyone could help me with the values of these coins? I do not have a Krause guide yet, so I need some help.

The first coin is a 1853 British Penny.

The second coin is a 1916 German Empire 10 Pfennig with an E mintmark.

Thanks for any help,
Silver Runner

Two Dollar for Penny and a Quarter for German. 1853 Penny lists $9 in Fine.

The penny might be worth a couple bucks.

Check completed sales on e-bay, that is a better indicator of value than the krause book.

I agree with what has already been said. But I can supplement it:
Gotta go with the age-old adage: "The best indication of price/value is what someone will actually pay you." Being a collector of British coins, and someone who really likes pre-1860 coppers, I would pay 2 or 3 bucks for that, depending on whether it was on my wantlist, and if it was the specific coin I was pursuing at the time.

Thank you to everyone who provided me with an estimation of value. I appreciate everyones input. I guess you really can't go wrong with pre 1860 coppers in the LCS coin bin. While looking for "young queens" for my daughter I came across these two coins and some $1 Canadian coins. I figured I couldn't go wrong for $0.25 each. I also picked 2 silver, a 1961 Mexico 1 Peso and a 1944 Netherlands 10 Cent piece.

Any other words of wisdom on searching world coin bins would be appreciated. I might start a new thread on this...

Thanks Again,
