Stopped by the local liquor store to pick up some Sam Adams for the weekend and the cashier asked if "know much about money." I think she remembered me from the few times I was there before and paid with some halves and dollar coins. I was like, ya, I know a little. She said a local drunk stopped by and paid with what he called a bicentennial $5 bill. He was just about in tears after he spent it she said. I told her there was no such thing but I asked to see it. It was a 1950B series, not a star or anything special. She gave it to me in my change. She asked if it was worth anything. It's practically a rag, so I said "$5. I'll spend it and maybe he'll get it back in change sometime." She said, "small town, it could happen."
