Not really.....I'd say 1:40 is a good candidate and 1:80 is a sure thing. Old fatty NGC, thats where its at. w/ 1:25 good candidate 1:50 a sure thing.

When I say 1:25 that means 1 out of 25 random coins. When you start cherry picking for quality......the odds get much better :)

As always BUY THE COIN

At VF 20 it will look exactly like a 1909 :) Those "O" mint marks on those are beyond faint. I didn't even know they could actually go down to VF20 without being indistinguishable from a 1909-P.

I have an AU50 and it takes an electron microscope to find the "O".

Thats pretty much the story. I bought a 1909 as pre-33 junk bullion. Then at a later date I was hanging out with Market Harmony showing off some gold. I had this bad boy riding raw as a pocket piece. I thought he was pulling my leg when he said it was a "O". Talk about getting sick.

I would not buy coins of that magnitude without a CAC sticker. Especially Gold coins.

Almost all of my coins over $2k are CAC stickered because it just makes sense.

Here is my 1909-O. As you can see the "O" barely displays even at high amplification. It is the left of the thing the Eagle is standing on above the "F" in "Five".

This is one of my few coins above $2k that is NOT CAC'd. These are somewhat hard to find.

Checked it out on the cert look up. Nice Coin Barry. I'm sure its part of your "O" pedigree set.

Pretty much how my coin looks.... but yours is Just 30 points nicer.

Pretty happy about the results. I was spot on one on coin, I undrgraded 2 coins by one point, and had a huge homerun undergrade by 15 Points!

Best thing is the 1909-O got an honest grade. Special thanks to Mike of Market Harmony for his awesome eye.

Thanks barry.....I was pretty happy to see it grade out honest. Thought it had a good shot but I didn't want to jinx myself. I've always been a glass half empty type of grader.

I'm glad you can keep that up with your 90% upgrade record :)

It keeps you from going overboard and buying without thinking clearly first.
