Definitely cleaned. Still, a nice sharp coin.
When I was 13 (1960 was very long time ago), I remember getting a sharp brilliant AU 1910-S penny from a shop; they had a tube of them for a few bucks each. In those days, even the EF's had some luster. That same shop had old brilliant rim toned 1830's dimes for $10. Nobody wanted them or collected them much in those days.
