Am i seeing washington on both sides of the coin? Kind of like Lincoln on both sides of the penny or the Queen on both sides of the $20 for $20 silver jubilee coins?

Believe it's Washington... and Jefferson's nose. So yeah. Washington was also on both sides of the South Dakota state quarter and... umm... the New Jersey quarter, right?

I don't like State, Territory or Nat. Park Quarters that don't use up the space on the back of them like Wyoming...

Now that I'm on a rant -

Why is it generally true, that US coin designs are...1) hideous...and 2) so poorly executed..?

Canada's coins are exquisitely detailed by comparison.

It wasn't always this way.

The Onion had a hilarious story when the state quarters were being rolled out, something like "South Dakota considering Mt Rushmore for their theme."
