SCORE!!! 2024 Kennedy half - D mint!

I went to a bank just now and bought pe nies and nickels. Requested half dollars and bought the two loose halves that they had. One is a 1978, the other a 2024 Denver!!!! I will be spending the '78, but keeping the 2024 D

Well this has to be a first, both halves before the P nickel and dime and 6 quarters. Congrats to Silver4face for finding them both!

Very strange year for quarter discoveries.

Today from $150 in casino quarters I found two more P-mint ladies, Mink and Walker (I thought Walkers were halves )

So P-mint finds have outnumbered D-mints 3 to 2 for me, and here we are in the final month of 2024 with a bunch to go on this list.

2024-D Walker quarter from $150 from the casino.

Two 2023 Jovita Idar's were in the mix...but no P-mint.

The first six quarters of 2024 are now in my collection. Only missing Cruz PD and Zitkala-Sa PD. Will try to make a few more trips before the new year.

Btw, I think 2024 is the first year since 1838 that the term "quarter dollar" or some variant does NOT appear on any US quarters of that year.

2024 Canadian quarter

Coin production was way down for 2024. I just got the mintage figures from the US Mint website today and not sure if they are updated for final numbers. This explains why it has been so hard to find 2024 coins. For nickels, except for 2009, you have to go back to 1956 to find a lower mintage.

HUGE SCORE BY ACCIDENT! Went to local bank to pick up a box of nickels. All 50 rolls were brand new 2024 Philadelphia. I opened six rolls to confirm. I swapped out the rest for circulated rolls. To me, brand new coins are meant to be spent unless they are gold, silver, or platinum.

You might want to check on Ebay, I had read somewhere that 2024 coins are selling for a premium.

Not a first to find but I got my first 2024-P cent yesterday. For 2024 so far I have only found the P and D cent and two of the 5 quarters both D mint mark. Still havent seen a nickel or dime.
