Today Franklin asked if there are any Realcent grumps?

Postby henrysmedford » Fri Jun 10, 2011 10:27 pm

Today my wife and two boys went to yard sales. And at one of the yard-sales my wife reported there was a table with coins and a man was looking them over. When Franklin my soon to be fifteen year old who has autism and did not talk until 4.5 years old said to him are you looking for a 1909-S VDB. The man bolted up grumbled something and went back to looking. After work Franklin and I went out to some banks and Franklin asked if his "members were grumps" . Somedays when I get home from work and if Franklin finds something neat he will say tell my "members". He loves this group and thought all coin collectors would be nice.

Other than beauanderos' foul disposition, things are pretty cool on RC.
If I have the gift of prophesy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to move mountains but do not have love I am nothing. And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned but do not have love it profits me nothing.

Also Franklin did a good job keeping it together he also has tourette syndrome in speech and in movement and he can go off . Make me think of that old post from you "Thogey" see-- http://www.realcent.org/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=136&hilit=tourette&start=25#p16983

As long as there is no talk of inflation or getting rid of the pennies and nickels I'm a delight :D
Good to hear Franklin kept his cool, something I'm always working towards.

I get a little grumpy when I'm trying to concentrate on something and the better half won't turn off the motor.
And when I'm watching a ball game on tv and a special report interfere's with my game :x
and when the computer freezes up while uploading pics
and when I'm cutting grass and my dog takes a dump in my path

But other than that, I'm pretty HAPPY :D

One of my new favorite things to do at my local show is striking up a conversation with the coin grumps and being really cheerful and positive...hehe

I think this is a rare forum on the internet. Almost all members can disagree without being disagreeable.

No kidding! At the rare SHOW I get to attend, I always like to look up from the coin box or album I'm rooting through when someone else comes up to the table, and greet them. Usually get a "harumph" of some sort... I guess we all forgot our social skills from digging through all those coins for so long. Or they leer at me like I'm buying all the coins they want. Maybe that's it.
But at the local SHOP, everyone is different. A lot of us are "old friends with the same disease," and if anyone new comes in, we love that too... we're all glad to see someone else coming in to support our favorite hangout.

I wasn't grumpy until I read Realcent today and heard about the 1909s and IHCs being found. Now I'm grumpy.

My Grump-O-Meter moves inversely to the closing price of Au and Ag each market day. That about sums it up.
