I live in the desert, which is renowned for its incredible sunsets. This is an image that puts most sunsets I've seen to shame.

Simply breathtaking.

I'm starting to complete my Lincoln Proofs with emphasis on eye appeal. This one looks amazing in hand!

Question from the peanut gallery:

Is it worth setting aside common date cents with pretty toning? It seems like a logical first step into creating an album such as Barry's.

If they are Mint State and have attractive toning Id say yes. They may not be worth spending money on to get graded, but think how cool a set of memorial toners pulled from Circ would be.

Even circulated ones with natural and attractive toning could be worth it. It really depends on the level of toning and the level of circulation.

If you post a few pictures people can give their opinions. Doc's opinion is one I would go to the bank (or in this case PCGS) with.

Thanks Doc and Barry. I'll try to get some pics up as I find exceptionally pretty ones. The one that caught my eye tonight was a circulated young queen with a beautiful rainbow under a CFL...but I'll need to take a picture when the sun is up.

Right now I'm busy turning the top of the stairwell into a book nook adjoining the living room, so times with good light are at a premium.

It does feel good to swing a hammer again, but there may be some delays in finishing the project. I'm almost done with the framing on the stair side, but scared to cut through the load bearing wall to create the opening with a foot of wet, heavy snow on the roof. :?

We're supposed to get another 2-4 inches today.

A few more coins I bought raw a long time ago and finally certified.

This was a double mint set that I bought. All the same double mint set. I excluded the ones that weren't worth displaying although I certified them. I think the numbers are all consecutive if someone cares.

All of them came back GRADED, i.e. "NT".
