Who's a sucker for pretty coins?

The best one is probably the Seated Dollar. When you turn it in the light it shines the most awesome brilliant orange of any coin I've seen.

Some of those cents are quite nice in hand also.

My personal favorite coin is one that I can't find and even though it's TrueView'd it is 10x better in hand. But I can't find it to take a photo of it!

As you can see by their consecutive certification numbers I believe they came from the same proof set.

Here's the reverse, but the picture doesn't do it justice. In hand the corroded areas look frosted rather than dull.

Yes, Engineer was a very smart bidder... perhaps I should have giving better detail pictures like the one he posted, and I would have achieved a higher sales price. He got a great deal!!! This was, by far and wide, the best half dollar that I have seen from the SS Republic. And what is even more appealing is that it is a P mint and not an O mint. Just a quick Google search will confirm the prevalence of O mint coins over any other for the wreck... P mints are tougher to come by, and this particular one was well struck and has superb details.

And these coins from Barry are fantastic!!! The toning is very similar to one another that you might think that they are from the same proof set... The toning hints that the half dollar had something laying across the obverse to create a bifurcation of tone characteristics... draw a line from 8:00 to 1:30 and look on opposite sides of that line... makes me wonder why it is different... like a piece of paper or plastic, or something straight caused a different kind of tone over a long periods of time. Great coins all around!!! Thanks for sharing, guys

I would have liked to get that shipwreck coin but I only buy coins in PCGS plastic.

I finally found my "signature coin".

It has my name on the slab and my initial on the coin itself.

And I had PCGS slab it with the "T" facing properly, i.e. the coin is rotated such that it emphasizes the "T"

Ya, not bidding on the grade at all on this one...my max bid is an embarrassment ...

These seem to be hard to find toned and MS...that may just be my experience, but I've looked a while and have only slight rim toning...

I agree. However, the auction above is NOT for a heavily toned rainbow toner. Not at all. It is a minor-toner even for Peace standards. Probably worth a premium, but not much of a premium.
