Lol is there a point, to your search for these??

Just completing a set? Belief that they will be of value...

Just curious how many of each set I can find in circulation. Found all the IFC dollar coins and 25 of the NIFC so far. I'm knowledgeable enough about coins to know these will likely never increase in value, but I don't care, it's fun! Plus, on a recent trip to the bank the tellers had saved me $140 in Ikes, which I promptly sold at my local coin show for a profit.

And really, asking if there's "a point" to collecting...on a collectors site?

I've found four of the non-proof S Mint quarters:

2012-S (Chaco Culture)
2013-S (Great Basin)
2017-S (George Rogers Clark)
2019-S (San Antonio Missions)

Quite so. Haven't found one since May of last year.

By comparison I've found 32 West Point quarters.

Small dollar coins started nifc in 2012 for presidential and native american ones.
Sacagawea ones were 2001 to 2008 and sba ones were 1981

coindood wrote:Did some number crunching and figured out that of the 171 different small dollars issued 1979-2022 (not including proofs), 113 are NIFC. If you want to put together a set of IFC's there are only 58 to gather. I'm a mere four coins away from completing the IFC's, and I've found 20 different NIFC's.

We've reached an interesting milestone in 2023. NIFC small dollar coins (123 different) now outnumber IFC's (58 different) 2 to 1, not including proofs.

I finally finished the IFC's last month but have found only 27 NIFC's (22% of the total) in slightly over a year of bank hunting. If I'm able to get any at all on my visits, it's usually about $25 or less, and of those, maybe I get one NIFC. One bank asked me if I wanted to order a box ($1,000) but I nixed the idea. I'd probably end up with fresh unopened rolls of new 2007's, and good luck getting rid of those.

You mentioned 140 IKES - that's a lot. Were there any 1973 in that lot?

Afraid not. I had visions of Morgans and Peace, but would have been ecstatic with a some '73's. What I got was pretty nice condition coins from most years, including some Type 1 Bicentennials. Here's what they looked like wrapped up:

Kash!

I once got several original unopened rolls, the type that have the president's name on the wrapper. Broke 'em all open, kept one nice example, returned the rest.

Well, if cashing them in. I would open and either use them for spending, or put into a coin counter. Not just return to a bank.

Just got another $240 in Ikes, same bank, same wrappers. I've separated them by date/mm (no 1973s again) but I'll look for any varieties.

Sac was all 2000 d with interesting toning.

Hayes #1,2*1979 SBA
Hayes #2, only 8 Hayes, rest ,,,others.

But all of them look uncirculated
