IMO id say AU, just because the breast feathers aren't all there. But im far from an expert, Rodebaugh will know for sure.

Doc will straighten me out for sure.

Look at the right side of her head. See the tiny scratches going NW/SE.

That's why I say cleaned. Breast feather sseem worn down.

I'm laying my meat on the chopping block. I don't know how to grade.

I thought I'd give it a shot before the experts chimed in.

Waiting for doc but from the pics I say AU (at best) looking at the hair and breast feathers. Then I see the cloudiness around the stars and some letters and know that is the mark of a cleaned coin. This needs to be seen in person.

You guys can wait for the doc to confirm its not cleaned I'll be ok with that. its really just a nasty picture honestly and is tuff to grade. but i am sure it has not been cleaned.

to tell you how bad the picture lacks detail there is actually a die break on the obv around the whole coin. You can see it a little on the reverse at the top around states

not to be a smart-alec or anything....but, does the grade really matter for a 1921 Morgan? I figured they were common enough to only be worth melt anyway. :?

Elephant in the room has been pointed out.
BUT, a good grading exercise is always warranted.

Sorry Spence, Just back from fishing trip.

I have you at Au-53 to Au-55. Alot of great luster still on that coin. Better than junk....but not worth a 2x2. This coin needs to find its way into a roll with the lable "Honest AU or better 1921 morgans"
