Cleaning a proof

Postby AuStruck » Wed Sep 12, 2012 12:35 am

I got a few Ike Silver proofs for spot. Each has fingerprints on the mirror-like field. Will acetone clean off the prints maybe? If so how? Danger zone-How about e-z-est or tarnex?

Edit: Well, I found an answer at www.cointalk.com/t93332/#ixzz26S7krxxS.

Pure Acetone dip rinsed in distilled water should remove most oily residues without harming the surface of the coin.. Haven't got to try fingerprints yet someone else on here might know for sure.
