Question on Coins

Postby adamsp27 » Fri Oct 05, 2012 11:23 am

Hi, would appreciate any input on exactly what type of coins these are. Have had them for a while and finally decided to take a picture, hopefully it is clear enough for some experts out there to give an idea of value. The 1962 D penny is extremely thin the Dime has a mangled front, the rim on one of the pennies is extremely fat and rounded and the final penny appears to be in a different metal, it really doesn't seem to be coated?

Thanks for any help

The thick rim looks like maybe a "dryer coin"
The dime looks like a capped die strike with some rim damage.
The white penny looks like either a plateing job with silver, or mercury treated, or science experiment where the copper was stripped.
I can not tell enough to guess on the thin one.

Just my guesses, not an expert.
