Anyone finding 2009 dimes?

Postby cooyon » Sat Apr 13, 2013 2:59 pm

I have been looking for 2009-P and D dimes for two years, and have found exactly one P. These are much more difficult to find here than the 2009 nickels, even though the dimes have higher mintage. I'm about 75 miles from the Philadelphia mint, but that was meaningless for the 2009-P nickel. Did they send the dimes to Puerto Rico also? Maybe I'm just living in a dead zone. Like to hear whether these have been found around the country. TY.

I average about one 2009-D nickel per roll searched. I average about one 2009-D dime per every 15 rolls searched. I probably find one P of each (nickel and dime) for every 50-60 D's I find.

Since Thanksgiving I think that I've found on 2009d and mayber 20 2009 dimes. I've looked through maybe the equivilant of a box and half in that time. I was actually trying to do an experiment on something else and finished the experiment in 60 rolls and just kept on going looking for the 2009 coins. Wouldn't you know it but when I abandoned the project I found very few 2009's. It was fun while it lasted but still looking for the 2009.
Don't look back. Something may be gaining on you.

Neither a penny or a nickel is worth face value anymore.

I'm just a poor wayfaring stranger.

 I'm lucky if I get 1 per box. And I've only found one 2009-P so far.

I keep all the 2009 dimes because they are so scarce around here in PA...I have only found 2-3 total.

I found a 2009 P a couple months ago and a 2009 D a couple days ago... I wasn't even looking for it. I was just sifting through coins in my hand after I had already finished edge searching for silver. Should be easy to get all the clad ones now... I should buy an album soon.
