Advice on Presidential Dollars ??

I have never been interested in numis, just silver and copper. Now I'm helping my mom sort out my dad's coin collection and came across a lot of BU MS60 Presidential dollars.

In my mind the main reason to keep them would be as insurance against a USD revaluation. But that's a long shot, so I need more information on what I should do with these coins.

Thank you in advance.

The amount of effort it will take you to make a PROFIT over face is a LOT.

And a USD revaluation that doesn't also impact the presidential dollars? That sounds impossible.

Cash them in....The Federal Reserve Banks have 1.4 billion $1 coins held in inventory. In my opinion they will never be a serious collectors item because there are just too many and no interest.

I was thinking that coins are a lot more expensive to make then paper money. So the New Dollar might use the old coins, thus if a 10:1 revaluation, the dollar coin is now worth $10 old dollars. Just speculation, you could be right, who knows?

Thank you for the replies.

You would think the 2012 and 2013 ones would be of some intrest as they were only sold thru the mint.
