Cherrypickers guide states it is rarer than ddo#1 which is the one everyone knows of. I found one that is in xf-au.Anyone have currect price for this coin.I am going to sumbit it to anacs,along with a 3-0-1 and hopefully a few more by the time I get finished going through the ones I set aside to check.
Do sets contaning all examples of the ddo for 1972 have a market? Any thoughts?

I don't know how accurate the prices are, but here is some info.

At a coin show today I saw at least 4 of the 1972 Double Dies and all were in slabs and all graded from MS-65 to -66. None had any additional information except the terminology of 1972 Double Die Obverse. All were selling for $450 to $550. All such prices were flexible if the dealers were asked. I've never seen any selling for much more than that at any coin shows.
I've never seen a set of all possible types of that coin anywhere. Would be interesting though.

JC,If those coins you seen at the show were ddo 1's and graded ngc,pcgs they were good prices.MS65 red is $660 MS66 red is over $1000
From what I've gathered and heard PCGS will only slab DDO1 as a double die,not sure on NCG but it think its the same.
I was told only anacs will attrubite the other DDO's or they are the only reliable ones to send to.
I think I will send the ddo4 out tomorrow and see what happens.

Naturally prices of any coin is pending on where you purchase them. Via ebay or a coin store, prices usually are way over a coin shows prices. At a normal to large coin show the amount of dealers makes all coin prices drop due to comptition. I go to about 2 to 4 coin shows a Month and so far have never seen a 1972 double die for anywhere near that $1,000 price range. Not even close. I'd suggest if you could find a buyer for yours anywhere near that price, take it fast.
