The 2021 coins will arrive soon! I enjoy seeing where and when each coin has been found first, so I started a new thread for 2021. Post where and when you find them and I will try to put date and finder in this first post. If you don't mind it might be interesting to know what city or at least what part of the country the coin was found in.

I finally got the new thread up BEFORE someone found the first coin of the year. Good luck everyone and check the first to find threads from the last few years, there are still some unclaimed coins.

So far looks like 2 different quarters for 2021

Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site quarter dollar
Washington crossing the Delaware

Not sure if they will have the w mint mark for these

And maybe these as well in 2021. Women’s History and Nineteenth Amendment Centennial Commemorative Coin Program. 5 quarters a year.

No 2021 quarter dollars will be struck at the West Point Mint for release into general circulation.

U.S. Mint spokesman Michael White confirmed to Coin World Jan. 6 that the bureau will not be striking any 2021-W quarter dollars. “The W Mint mark quarters were not conceived to be a multi-year project,” White said.

Today (31 Jan 2021) got my first Tuskegee Airmen quarter (D mint) at a local grocery store (North suburb of Minneapolis). I checked my coins when I got home, but the store has sold me rolls of coins if I ask. Not really sure I want a roll of the quarters anyways.

Congrats to ScrapMetal for the first 2021 coin found! Based on the past 5 years or so this is one of the earliest finds. I see on the Mint website the last ATB quarter was scheduled to be released the first part of February but because of the "Coin Shortage" the release was moved up to Jan 4. Maybe the first coin released for 2021. I think the cent or the nickel is usually reported first, not sure when they are actually released into circulation. Keep looking and still some open spots in the 2020 first to find thread.

First 2021 D penny got in change at an Aldi's grocery store in Champlin Minnesota.
In the same change was another 2021 D quarter.

Not a first to find, but first 2021 coin for me. 2021-D Tuskegee Airmen quarter. This is a very early find for me, usually don't see my first coin of the new year until May or June.

Found the same yesterday, first 2021 coin for me. Cents, nickels and dimes are taking their sweet time getting to Vegas.

I'm also searching casino quarters lately, hoping to find some P's & W's missing from previous "First To Find" lists.

Finally! First 21-D penny.

Not sure when I got it but it was probably this past Monday. I've been laid up recovering from surgery so the date is not certain, but I know that was the last time I ventured out.
