I'd be interested to hear your opinions on whether or not you think the US Mint will make a JIMMY CARTER DOLLAR COIN.
My notes say:
Presidential dollar program ended in 2016 with coins of Nixon, Ford and Reagan.
G.H.W. Bush died Nov 30, 2018.
Bill to mint a Bush coin introduced to Congress Feb 12, 2019.
That bill was signed into law Jan 28, 2020.
The coin was eventually released on Dec 4, 2020.
So...
REAGAN's coin issued in 2016 with Nixon and Ford proved they didn't HAVE to be released in presidential order. Then BUSH's coin in 2020 proved they were willing to issue one after the end of the initial program. Was the 24-month gap between death and coin issuance a requirement of the bill, or a result of the Covid pandemic, or some combination of both?

I'm not against it, especially since they did the bush one 4 years after the program ended. However, nobody should be willing to pay more than face for it - even in BU condition.

They should put Biden on one side and Carter on the other side. Its a coin flip which is the worst president in US history.
I was going to save this for my favorite holiday, April Fool's Day, but I think its more likely that Trump will create a $3 bill and put Mike and Obama on it. IYKYK.

Not a bad idea except that Obama should be on the carter side because he was worse than Carter.

If he was so epic why did they need to wait for him to die to do it? I just don't get that.

Might as well give a coin out for him, I am not sure but think it has to be an act of congress to get it added.
As far as the next bunch of Presidents it will be very interesting. All of them had problems and issues. Lol

If I recall correctly, the only change made to the original issuance of these dollars was that none would be minted for regular circulation after 2011 (or maybe 2012?), but the uncircs would continue being produced for collectors. Also, they were to be issued in order only until we got to the modern era, and then would or could be affected by the then living presidents' order of deaths.
No living person may be depicted on US coin.
