What's ya'lls opinion about this one?

I'll sell this one for the right price (whatever that is).

I still don't understand the Morgan market. I have a few hundred. It's time to lighten the load.

looks like a touch of wear in the upper hairlines, or it could be weak strike. au-unc but too much field noise to go over a -60

I can tell you 2 things about it.

It's round and it is dated 1881.

I hope I helped.

Whenever you get serious about dumping your morgans keep me in mind....cash, paypal, silver, gold, whatever.

As for your coin pictured. MS 61-62 @ PCGS. My money would be on MS-62. I have a fair grading eye for morgans... See for yourself: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=6159&hilit=pcgs

MS62+ on the first one, solid MS63 on #2. The baggie stuff in front of Liberty's face is a little distracting in the photo, but in hand it might be totally different. If it is just the picture, then that is a nice MS64 coin and worth a fair amount. Great frost and well struck, too. That's a nice coin to have.

The bag marks are real.

I'm going to sell these. It's hard to come up with a price though.

I agree with mike, Coin #2 looks to be a solid MS-63.

A good book to have to help determine your coin's grade is called "Making the grade". Its a picture guided assist to 50 of the most popular coins. With the morgan dollar, most of the grade comes from the obverse. On the obverse, the cheek and chin are the worst places to have scratches. Second comes the neck, forehead, eyes, nose, and ear. Third is the hair and headband and fourth is the outer edges encompassing the date legends.."e pluribus unum".
