1908----20 Kroner/ 1941 Merc seperated bands

I picked up a 1908 twenty kroner today. Its slabbed at MS 65. Contains 0.2592 oz gold. Gave $460.00 for the coin. I also picked up a 1941 merc with seperated horizontal bands. $13.00 for that one.

I don't confess to knowing anything about 20 Kroner pieces, but it sounds like you got a nice buy on the Merc.

Well to tell you the truth, I am having some doubts about the kroner purchase. The only drawback I can see is that its not a well known coin. That may affect the resale value later on. On the plus side, there were only 243,000 made. Plus, it has a little more than a quarter of an ounce of gold. Most coins in the quarter ounce area have either exactly a quarter ounce or a little less. The kroner has .2592 ounces. 0092 of an ounce doesn't sound like much but when dealing with gold, a little is a lot, right? Its a good looking coin. Here's a link:
