How can I tell a 1960 proof cent from a 1960 circulation strike cent?

usually a proof coin will have thicker rims and be very highly detailed if you look at it through a 10x loupe.
I don't know if there were any specific diagnostics like the wide or close AM at that time or not...

Usually the finish on the coin is a lot different between the 2. There is no wide or close AM difference then like it is on the late 90's coins. If your looking to get into RDV Reverse Die Variety's then check out http://www.varietyvista.com/Lincoln%20C ... hanges.htm
