Ok, so I was edge sorting some dimes and saw what I thought was a penny through the plastic...
Its a clad dime, but with no reeds on the edge...its just smooth...
Has anyone seen something like this (pictures are...as far as I know, impossible)

Is it a normal sized dime or is it broadstruck?

Its normal size and composition as far as I can tell...in all other respects its a completely normal dime...but the edge is smooth, and it hasn't been sanded or altered as far as I can tell...

I would weight it to see if it has been shaved.

I have noticed several of these. I am assuming it was spooned, I believe is what it is called (being hit repeatedly with a spoon or other object to smooth the edge).

Since you don't say what sort of dime it is.....IE: Roosevelt, Mercury, barber,..., etc, etc, I have to ask: Is it a canadian dime? Some, if not all, canadian dimes are "milled" not reeded.
