I had not put much thought into Susan B Anthony Dollars until my son Franklin got a Dansco book for them . I found that a 1979-P near date go for $10-$50. A that it makes me wonder if that most Presidential dollars are in the vaults of the government until someone tells them its time to stop making them and melt them . At that point and thirty years down the road will some of them have some worth. PS I paid $19 for the 1979-P near date MS60 and got a 1979-P far date for MS63 for $1. Just in case Franklin has them all. Also here is a nice read on Presidential dollars. http://www.npr.org/2011/06/28/137394348/-1-billion-that-nobody-wants

I just used 2 SBA's for a frozen lemonade at mcDonalds today and the guy looked at them with his mouth open for a solid minute before directing me on to the pick up window. I had to laugh.

I have a 1979-p near date. Sometimes they call it the "wide rim". I paid $10.00 for mine. I think its probably MS-63....MS-64. Probably worth around $25.00.
