Over the years I have had my share of 1968 quarters and dimes. Question is....did they mint any 80% stuff.....like for mint sets? I have a very nice white-ish 1968 that is and sounds like no other 50% 1968 quarter that I have right now....or I have ever had. As soon as I saw it in the pile I knew it was silver.....but I was surprised when I saw the 68 date.
Thanks for the help.

Nope. If it's silver, it's 50%

FOOLPROOF 1968 CANADIAN COIN CHECKER:
nickel coins stick to a magnet. silver coins do not.

I was pretty sure you knew this. But I have been pretty surprised by some of the people who didn't.
And directly to your question, I never thought about it before, but I wonder if maybe they DID make a few 68 silvers with 67's planchets???

They went to half silver near the end of 67 so if its silver its 50%
Try a magnet if it is non magnetic its silver
