Visited a new (for me) coin shop Friday in my ongoing search for Canadian cents and nickels. They only had a small amount, less than $2 FV, but I said I would take it all for .8xFV. Got home, started looking at my new stuff, and was shocked to see a 1948 nickel. This is the third-lowest mintage, 1.81 million, behind the 1925 and '26. I almost never get one of these, only my second one. The other one was in a partial set I bought at FV, so I have a total of nine cents tied up in the two 1948s. Now if it would only stop snowing.
