High-Frequency Trading

I knew that computers traded stocks, but I had no idea to what extent and also other asset classes. Joe Saluzzi says that 70% of all equity volume right now is from computers and some of them trade with themselves. Don't set limit orders, the computer programs will lower the price of the sock in milliseconds buy your stocks then the price will go back to normal! It seems that the regulators don't care and don't really have the technology to monitor this. I would like to here opinions from anybody that has experience trading now or in the past.

Yep, it is sad.....but that is the reality now.
