When money (excessive greed) doesn't thrill you any more, you seek out other avenues to get that thrill. I hope that by resigning he does not escape accountability.
I think the justice system does not want to look into that abyss for fear of what they will find.
More than likely many of ones investigating may themselves be guilty.
