I've heard of stories like this before, but never would have imaged pocket change could grow to an amount such as this.

It adds up quickly, especially if you always pay with paper and make an effort to hoard the change. Between my wife and I, we put away about $75/month in change which would add up to $7K in 8 years. (If I didn't raid the change jar to buy PMs)
