There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me, because they want to give something back. They know they didn’t -look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something – there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there.

If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.

The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together. There are some things, just like fighting fires, we don’t do on our own. I mean, imagine if everybody had their own fire service. That would be a hard way to organize fighting fires.

So we say to ourselves, ever since the founding of this country, you know what, there are some things we do better together. That’s how we funded the GI Bill. That’s how we created the middle class. That’s how we built the Golden Gate Bridge or the Hoover Dam. That’s how we invented the Internet. That’s how we sent a man to the moon. We rise or fall together as one nation and as one people, and that’s the reason I’m running for president – because I still believe in that idea. You’re not on your own, we’re in this together.”

Obummer is in my town, San Antonio, now...messing up the traffic...telling people the government has done everything for them...making all the conservatives crazy with his communistic rhetoric. He's doing the campaign thing with Eva Longoria who recently appeared in my spy coat kitchen sink auction. Later, he's going to Austin where he'll meet with gay rights groups. Then, in the biggest disappointment, he's doing another campaign event there with Jerry Jeff Walker. I will never listen to London Homesick Blues the same way again.

The government is your key to successes....remember that!!!!!

That's exactly right, you know. If not for the power and wisdom of the government, a major campaign donation bundler would have never received government-guaranteed loans for a bogus solar power company before it turned belly up. And nobody goes to jail for any of this stuff. Not Corzine. Not Holder. Nobody. The rule of law is gone and America as we know it is done. No scraps for us dogs either...not even a bone.

He wouldn't be spewing this commie claptrap if he didn't have a receptive audience that believes the same. He wouldn't have gotten elected in the first place if America didn't want this ideology. Communism/Marxism wouldn't be so popular, socially accepted and striven for if "We the People" didn't desire it.

bluegill, you are exactly correct about his audience. I listened to the speech a couple of times and was sickened by the approval and applause he received everytime he dissed the inventor and businessman.
This speech wasn't covered by my local paper or TV station. I called both yesterday and was told 1) They didn't think it was newsworthy and 2) "We" don't know anything about his speech.

Of all the things that have come out of his mouth, I think this is the most insulting to America's greatness and the most indicative of his socialist agenda.

Ayn Rand was able to "make this stuff up" Though, I feel as if she was just calling upon her firsthand knowledge of the Russia from which she ran.

What I don't fully understand is that there are so many supporters who simply back the current regime simply because of the party platform. Rather than engage their minds and thoughtfully examine both sides of the issue, they simply accept the soylent green rhetoric that is fed to them. I mean, I get the support of a side, whether D or R, but to accept it blindly and to exhort the bashing of the opposing side, is reminiscent of Animal Farm.

It also seems if you have more you need to pay a higher percentage of tax then those with less. Im not sure how that is in the spirit of cooperation he also spoke of. (of course the wealthy pay more Im talking percentages)

We have an unserviceable debt that is set to rise sharply as more boomers retire, and a speech obama gave a few years back where he basically said we need to inflate the value out of the dollar so industry here can more effectively export products and create more jobs. It leads me to wonder just how the people who buy into his manifesto will react as their dollars barely put food on the table, and or we are forced to cut most social programs when we simply cant borrow or print anymore.

where is the line drawn? What part of my life is MINE?? If things get as bad as the 30s or worse, are my goats mine? As obama points out if we didnt have society I might not have my goats to milk. I already have to pay taxes on my land so the gov doesnt steal it from me. (I find paying taxes on owning things absolutely horrific-Id rather pay 100% tax when I bought the place and ACTUALLY own it)

A dream but not likely. As long as they are on the govt teet, they will continue to support his ilk. We have reached the tipping point.

I have no doubt our gov could do the same things more efficiently and save cash, but 1-2 trillion wile expanding in other areas?

Also, as things stand today I believe Romney would win by 6 to 8 points. If you're the incumbant and you can't poll above 50%, you've got problems; if you can't poll above 45%, you're toast. Rasmussen has had Obama polling between 44% and 46% for the past 6 weeks.

It's pretty obvious to thinking men and women. Government does nothing without pulling resources from the governed first, or, even worse, without borrowing the money to do so and thereby enslaving the citizens to debt.
