First time for me to read anything by that character so I only have one question: Can I, too, be a JMR?

That had to be one of the most uncomfortable reads ever! Mind you, it all sounds pretty accurate, but the liberal use of the English language made it difficult to follow. I kept wondering when the writer would get to the point! Regardless, thanks for sharing ... And yes, I too want to be a JMR...

I like to read the Mogambo Guru, too.
My favorite line is when he uses all his expertise with economic theory and investments to come to his learned conclusion: "We are so freaking screwed!"

Agreed, this was impossible to drag myself through. So many words, so little information.

What ever happened to that guy? He used to write for the Daily Reckoning and one day he was just gone. I havent been reading any of their stuff lately but the last i knew he was absent for a long time. He is entertaining as well as funny.

If I remember correctly his name is Richard Daughty. I've enjoyed reading his stuff for a number of years. The style grows on you over time ~but has its limits.
It also helps that I don't remember ever thinking he was far off base.
