Interesting read.
Though I can think of a few good uses of things like Zillow, for instance if you are
renting you can make sure your landlord is paying their mortgage and not find out
when the forclosure team shows up. Meaning you could in advance either find a
new place to rent while you still have time, or possibly contact the lender and make
arrangements to rent the house from them upon forclosure. Or come to an
arrangement to pay your rent directly to the mortgage lender to be applied directly
to the debt preventing your landlord from diverting it. Either way it's hard to work
out a solution when you don't have time to, Zillow could give you the heads up that
you need.
Also there are ways to add a few layers of privacy to your life if you know what you
are doing.
