Back in 2009 the chipless RFID tag was being discussed for the use in the Australian polymer banknotes as a means for security against counterfeiting. Since that time many other counties have adopted using polymer notes including Canada. I can't verify that RFID tags are in all polymer bills but there is information that other counties are using this technology in their currency as well.

Also a new method of RFID technology has been develops known as Laser Enabled Advanced Packaging (LEAP) which involves being able to have imbedded a traceable chip on paper whereby the process uses a carbon nanotube infused ink.
To help open your eyes to the facts Google the phrases "laser enabled advanced packaging" as well as "carbon nanotube infused ink". However note that your search will be recorded in your profile that is kept at the National Security Administration Utah Data Center.
