yep.. it's going to hurt since I am no longer "essential" in my current position but, I'll find something to do with my time if the shutdown does occur.

Think of the money saved the govt isn't spending. The economy will suffer in the areas the govt doles money out to. But TPTB won't let things get a whole lot worse, they can't afford to piss off the peasants much more than current. Mostly I expect a lot of media coverage and political posturing.
And if truly, this is the "fault" of the tea party then God bless them for having so much power in such a short time.
