temporarily.... yeah, right
A precedent set in one country (Poland) is soon emulated by another. Only a matter of time, friends... only a matter of time.

I am afraid its only a matter of time before it migrates our direction. I wonder if it would be advantageous to start drawing from the 401k via the IRS rule 72t and start getting some out of the banking system.

Well, isn't THIS interesting. I want to see which country in the West is first to do it? Once THAT happens . . . you will be behind the curve.
I very much like the idea of taking now "pre-retirement" via IRS rules that circumvent penalty. Not a bad idea considering the S&P 500 had it's best up day (today) in the last 9 months. Consider your IRA's and your 401K's.

Well, I'm gonna take a major tax hit next year... but I emptied ALL my 401k accts and IRA's this year as I didn't like the direction things are headed. Placed the proceeds into... _____________ and ____________ (fill in the blanks) during the summer pullback.
Just hoping that the suppression schemes lighten up by the time I have to scrape up payback next year

I Work for GM and there are many rumors going around that they are going to be giving us the choice of buying out our pension or putting it in some govt controlled acct. I only know of one other person that said they will be taking it besides myself and everyone tells me im totally stupid. Would be between 10-20k a yr for service so more then likely 15k. I have 14 yrs x 15k per yr = more then govt will leave me when they're done raiding!!!
