Nov 30 China's gold reserves stood at 55.38 million fine troy ounces at the end of October, up from 54.93 million at the end of September, the central bank said on Monday.

China began updating its reserve figures on a monthly basis in June, after reporting an unchanged level for more than six years.

Thats a 14 metric ton increase. Sounds like they are starting to admit to their interest without shocking the market as to how much they really have..

Yep, That's their "Official" number. Estimates based on mining production (all of which they keep), combined with official purchases, and the "unofficial" purchases that come in thru the "back door" should put the REAL number much higher. I'd like to know the REAL number, but we won't find that out until they're ready for us to know. My guess is it will come when they've acquired enough so the Yuan (Renminbi) can become the NEW world reserve currency. Then it will be SOOPRISE, Sooprise, Sooprise!
