Interesting. Well.... It's a gutsy call if this is a big chunk of your money, but if you're one of those people (or fund managers) for whom a billion is small change, then quite frankly it's not a surprise. If I knew how to work that market, I'd do something similiar for a small amount. I think a rating downgrade is inevitable, no matter what deal they strike this week or this next year.

This is why Obama keeps putting up one barrier after another and the Republicans respond in kind. They actually want this system to fail.

naw they cashed it out in gold, that's what really caused it to shoot up.=)

Romanian TV is running a financial news show right now which is discussing this very issue. Pictures of Soros and streaming videos of stuff off the Internet. Comments about Soros being pre-informed by TPTB. I don't speak any Romanian (well, other than a few simple words), but there is lot on the screen in English.

Interesting read. Trades like this will see huge fallout in other places.
