I stumbled across some people who absolutely hated Bush for what he was supposed to have done to their businesses, and the divergence shown in the 10 year chart makes what they were talking about clear. I note with interest that the divergence during Bush years has increased by quite a bit (but have not seen anything from that lot recently). Interesting.
