Law Of Attraction and Survival Prep

Ok, here is something that I have been thinking of for a long time. I am a big believer (and successful practitioner) of the Law Of Attraction and since getting in to prepping I have wondered if preparing for a disaster of some kind only attracts disaster in to our lives? For instance, we expect a disaster to happen or think that one COULD happen, therefore we get preps, we get a bunch of stuff ready, we stock up. Law of attraction states that what you think about you bring about, so if we expect TSTHTF and prepare accordingly, then does the universe bring us a SHTF scenario for us to be prepared for?

OR are we all attracting all of these things and supplies in to our lives because we expect to be ok and therefore if/when a disaster strikes in our lives we will survive it relatively unscathed?

Then there's the third scenario - avoidance of a disaster all together - for instance I live in SoCal and earthquakes are a constant threat. I have always imagined myself conveniently being on vacation if/when the big one strikes. Does my preparing for a disaster/earthquake only affirm to my mind that I will go through one and thus need to be prepared for it?

Thoughts?
George

P.S. - This is not a thread to debate whether the law of attraction is phooey or whether it works or not, please save us and yourselves the breath, but rather an open discussion about law of attraction and it's relation to prepping.

i wouldn't look at it so negatively.

do you save money or spend everything you earn? no, obviously you save. you don't even think about it because everyone else does.

now, most people don't save their money in the form of preps. so i think you are having trouble doing what others are not doing.

think of preps as normal savings, just in a different form. you realize there is a chance certain items will be difficult or more expensive to buy in the future and you are taking steps now. focus on the peace of mind you are avoiding, not the calamities that may force you to use your preps.

No one wants the be in a situation where they need to use their preps. I dont think me buying PM's and preps is going to cause an earthquake. I do think everyone taking their money out of the bank due to fear will create a reason to fear. It depends on the situation. Self-fulfilling prophecy cannot cause a solar flair. The mind is powerful but the natural world is much more powerful. A prepper could also choose to live in an area with few natural disasters

It seems like the things we worry about and prepare for never happen.

I my life, it's the things I don't see coming that kick my ass. That's why I pray for wisdom and not outcome

Silversound, I believe in the grace of God in my life no matter how good or bad the circumstances I go through, and I pray for His wisdom to guide me in everything I do. I prep both as insurance against the most likely situations I might encounter, plus other things to help protect my loved ones, especially my fiancee, who's disabled. I've put a heavy emphasis on food preparation for long-term storage, and recently purchased my homestead/bug-in bunker and have been slowly but steadily building up both my supply of food, ammo, clothing and blankets for myself and my fiancee (with ample food and clothing to spare for anyone needing anonymous charitable assistance), plus continuing to strengthen and refine security measures. A huge plus is that I have great neighbors who really seem to help watch out for each other--and good neighbors can mean the difference in a SHTF situation, especially if it's widespread and prolonged, as a lot of people are assuming will be the case when the fiscal insanity of the U.S. government finally drives this country into the ground economically and socially. Nobody but my fiancee knows what I'm doing to prep (although I've shared some things with my uncle, who's also my shooting buddy), and it's going to stay that way. The bottom line is just to live frugally, stock up extra on everything you need anyway and just keep your eyes open and your profile low.

Just focus on (attract) the positive preparations, don’t keep your thoughts on the reason (disasters, governmental collapse, financial collapse or an apocalypse) for your preps.
I also know the law of attraction, and the above is my method. Being prepared is not being negative, if anything its positive thought. Knowing you and your family will be safe with all your preparations in any event is positive thought.

Stay positive in all aspects of life and life will be positive.

A friend of mine thought the same way. He is not expected to live long, from something easily treatable if caught early.

Think of it this way: If you are properly prepared for disaster, most will hardly be noticible.

As an example, I've lost my job several times, and been broke for months on end. No problem, I just pulled out the fishing pole or rifle, and tapped into my food stores. Hardly worth remembering.

Does buckle your belt on your car attract a car accident ?

i don't think preparing for hard time can attract anything but safety and comfort when disaster come
you don't prepare for disaster, you prepare for a better life no matter what happen in society
