"That sent natural gas prices for immediate delivery, known as the spot price, to a record $120 per 1,000 cubic feet in some markets on the East Coast. To put that in perspective, that's equivalent to oil at more than $700 per barrel."

The little secret that Canadians tend to keep quiet is that natural gas home heating is arguably bigger than oilsands heavy crude (which is sold to the US at a heavy discount to light sweet)

$2,000 per bbl in natural gas form may not be out of the question if cold snaps like this continue (Japan buying up all the compressible and liquified natural gas does not help availability for the US)
