whats the effective range on the sub2000 in .40sw?

ive wanted one since i learned of its existence. it can share ammo with some of my other stuff. it folds up. it is somewhat cheap.
heard some of the negatives about it though... glock versions jamming with anything other than glock factory mags, beretta mag versions jamming on general principle, factory front sight... seems like an accurate firearm when it isnt jamming.

there are two other gun purchases that would compete with the sub2000.

ruger 10/22 and ak47.

well maybe I just got a bad one, but it was far from reliable. I never compared it to a rugged Ar15 as ive never owned one. this I pulled from its case and only a few times even took repetitive shots or anything remotely resembling abuse. i bought it brand new and every other clip had a jam the entire time I owned it. I had a gunsmith who is known for his work in the area look at it, and he couldnt find the problem, (though the same guy was surprised as he thought it was a decent weapon in general). The rounds would literally get stuck in the chamber, and you had to use a cleaning rod to push them out still live. This was not a cleaning issue. It isnt likely to be an ammo issue either as the same ammo in a friends rifle was fine.

I would test your particular weapon before I relied on it if I were you.

Did you try a dremel tool with a felt wheel and jewelers rouge in the throat? Sonds like a bit of polish there might have helped.

I hate 9mm, but would like one of these in .40 (.45 would be preferable to me).

( I have not shot it yet. )

I'd shoot that puppy ASAP if I were you. KT has come a long way over the years, but still. Any company can put out a lemon every now and then. I've had two KTs; one was just fine, and one was a lemon. They do have excellent customer service.

Really, shoot it and check for function and get in touch with the factory if it gives you any trouble. Number one service.

Great bunch of people:

Better check it now, while it might get back to you from the factory.
