Offset Strikes?

Postby atticus » Fri Mar 02, 2012 11:57 pm

hi all,

i've run across a couple coins recently that seem to have an offset to the, mostly, obverse. basically there's more rim on one side than the other. before i figure out how to post pics here, is this a typical occurrence? also, on some of them there's what seems to be another, rounded "ridge" on the inside that passes through some of the "in god..." lettering.

lemme know what you might know on this. i'll try to figure out how to scan etc, but if it's something that is common knowledge, it'd save me some time.

thanks
