Let your heart take courage, all ye that sell coppers!

Postby Derek.Sheriff » Mon Aug 20, 2012 5:58 pm

Someone just used the 'buy now" function on eBay to buy a mini-CTU I had listed for auction there. They paid $38 and got free shipping. So when you factor in all the eBay lisitng fees, plus PayPal's percentage, and shipping cost, that comes out to about .0155 per copper cent :geek:

Final value fee: 9%
So for 31 that's 3.42 for ebay
paypal takes 2.9% + .30
which comes to $1.50
-5.15 for shipping
That $10.07 total.

So I made $27.93 on $18 fv of coppers. That's $9.93 profit. Not bad IMHO. The bad news for him is that he could have gotten the same deal for $26 instead of $38 if only he had been a realcent member and seen my "Buy it now" listing :?

Use it as a chance to introduce the buyer to realcent and hopefully grow our family by one :)

Copper took a jump along with the royal metals today. Maybe we can all start selling a little more soon.

Thanks! I gotta increase the volume and efficiency of my incoming supply of unsorted pennies first before I get a second and third Ryedale

Suggestions for doing that are welcome :!:

There's still no really good substitute for copper. The global economy has slowed down, but millions of Asians who are becoming accustomed to a higher standard of living aren't just going decide that they no longer want the kind of stuff Americans take for granted :)

I suspect there may be a few stockpiles around here waiting for the higher prices.
