I was going through a $50 bag of wheats 3 weeks ago a pulled out 1 14-d. I was handsorting $5 in cwr looking for coppers sunday and pulled out ANOTHER 14-d!!! I about crapped my pants when I found the second one! Had to share!!

Below is a pic of my fake 1914D. From what I have been told, the extra space between the 9 and 1 is the indication that its a fake. Apparantly someone turned a 1944D into a 1914D. Well thats atleast what I have been told....

I have one just like it. It also has a wide gap between the 9 and the 1. :cry:

Those fakes are easy to spot- I think the VDB has to be on his shoulder or something, where the 1944-D wheats VDB are some place else.

Also there is supposed to be a die crack from the bottom of his bust to the rim that is well known with 1914-D's as far I know

Yes. After they removed the VDB in 1909, it was totally abesent from the coins until 1918 or 1919 when the put it back on, very tiny, on the obverse, along the rim on Lincoln's shoulder. So if it has a VDB there, then it can't be from 1914

You got that backwards. The 44 has VDB on the shoulder. 1910-1917 there are no VDB's. Willys yours is a 44-d
