never thought of that! found .999 shot for 4 bucks an lb, but I would have to buy 125 lbs i would not need that much. thinking of melting it for practice before melting silver...figure I will screw up so 4 a lb is better than 30 an oz!
Copper is much more difficult to melt and work with than silver. Higher temps, more oxidation, harder on molds and crucibles. You can always remelt and recast the silver if you screw it up as long as you work clean and don't contaminate it.
